understanding of the art of musical theater performance from seasoned teachers and
performers.
Students will:

enhance their audition technique |
 |
receive comprehensive vocal training |
 |
receive individual and team dance training to improve their dance
abilities |
 |
develop their acting skills through improvisation, character development
and performance |
 |

theater through working on their own production |
The class will culminate in a production to be performed for family and friends at the
lovely MassBay Community College Theater. All students will collaborate on this musical
theater production, featuring songs from a variety of musical scores
including "Hairspray," "Beauty and the Beast," "Sweeney Todd," "The Little

atmosphere!
About the Show…..
“Be Careful What You Wish For: A New Fairytale Adventure”
Phoebe was used to being an only child, until her little brother Owen showed up! Now
her mother expects her to be responsible and help out with the babysitting and other
chores, much to Phoebe’s chagrin. Everything changes when a mischievous witch shows
up and promises her everything she wants in exchange for her baby brother. Phoebe
doesn’t hesitate to make the trade, but soon regrets her decision. With the help of her
fairy guide Guia and some familiar fairytale characters, Phoebe must face a world of
unknown trouble and difficult challenges to save her brother and learn lessons of her
own along the way.
Our Mission
This program is geared toward exposing
students to the theater arts, enhancing performance skills and socialization through
collaborating with their peers on a production. We will help students develop a strong
understanding of every aspect of a production from auditions to performance, both on
stage and backstage. We stress the importance of every role within a show and every
piece of the puzzle that makes up the final product. Our goal is to help the students build
confidence and self-esteem through positive reinforcement, make friends through
teamwork, nurture their own talents and discover the joy of being part of something of which they can be proud!
